The Student Gallery Initiative

The Student Committee for the Arts works within the Rubin-Frankel Gallery in the Hillel House in addition to the project of starting a new gallery in the Hillel House as well.

"The Rubin-Frankel Gallery is starting a new program: transforming the 4th floor gallery space into a student-run gallery, student-only exhibition space —allowing students from the Boston Metro area the opportunity to showcase their art in a setting outside of their respective schools. This project is set to launch in early 2012, so stay tuned!" -Holland Dieringer

Mission Statement and Purpose

"The Student Commitee for the Arts (SCA) at the Rubin-Frankel Gallery is a collaborative formed by fine arts, art history, and arts administration students. The mission of this committee is to provide students with the opportunity to connect with their peers in the creation and execution of arts exhibitions, from start to finish and every step in between, within the upcoming Student Gallery Initiative. Additionally, members of the SCA assist within the main gallery in everything from graphic design and grant writing to events management and installation. Advised by the director of the Rubin-Frankel Gallery, Holland Dieringer, this group is always open to consider new members interested in learning about and working within a non-profit gallery and DIY exhibition space." -Holland Dieringer

We are...

We are a group of Boston University students in all different levels and
disciplines. The most popular major in our group of creative students is
Art History, with Art being a close second. Although we may come from
diverse backgrounds, we have all come together with a passion for
sharing art. This committee of students is dedicated to running a
gallery and promoting artists. We work out of Boston University's
Hillel House, under the instruction of Holland Dieringer.
